“TAPAS: Spanish Design for Food” at El Matadero (Madrid)

For centuries Spain has been associated with high quality produce, delicious food culture, and a great sense of humour (I may have added that last one myself ^^). Anyhow, the food culture involves produce of the best quality (hopefully!), beautifully presented dishes, and…stunning  utensils. Whether to eat, to cook, or to decorate, because without a plate we’d eat of the table.

With that in mind, Acción Cultura Española (AC/E) got together with DIMAD to organise the exhibition “TAPAS: Spanish Design for Food“, as part of di_food, to explore the relationships between food and design.

Open until the July 17th at El Matadero (Plaza de Legazpi, 8. Madrid), this exhibition brings to the public eye the role of design has within the Spanish gastronomy world.  With more than 200 designer utensils exhibited in a fun and interactive way, you can expect to spend hours being wowed by the stunning (tho not always 100% practical) pieces.

And if that’s not your coup of tea, you can always become a one-eye octopus like I did!
