Inside Vienna’s Rathaus

During our third day in Vienna we found ourselves, completely by accident, inside Vienna’s Rathaus.

Wiener Rathaus
Its beautifully and intricate neo-Gothic design makes of it a must see in Vienna.

But what if I told you that you could also go in for a peak?? Yes, there are free guided tours every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 1PM (with a few exceptions).

The catch? As of now, they only offer tours in Germany, although there are available audio guides (English, Spanish, French and Italian) and other resources for international (non-German speaking) visitors.

The tour takes you to the Council Chamber, the two Coat of Arms Halls, the Stone Halls, Festival Hall, Senate Chamber, Grand Staircase and the Arkadenhof with a view of the Rathausmann.
For more information, you can click here and here.
On the other hand, if you visit Vienna at the right time of the year, you can wander through the Town Hall freely as we did, and this is what you’ll see.
Make yourself a warm cup of tea (or hot cocoa) and wrap yourself in a soft comfy blanket…
Ready? Steady?…GO!

What girl wouldn’t feel like a princess walking through those halls, and rooms?? I sure did! 🙂
